Job/Role Purpose: Provide financial support and expert advice on financial operation activities, cash and bank management, financial accounting systems, payroll including audit liaison in order to ensure an efficient, secure and controlled financial environment in compliance with company policies and procedures and local regulations

Task Responsibilities

Bookkeeping & Financial Records

  • Maintain accurate books of account in quick book(s)
  • Record daily financial transactions and ensure proper documentation
  • Reconcile bank accounts, credit cards, and cash balances
  • Prepare and post journals, including accruals and prepayments (as required)
  • Maintain organised financial records and audit trails

Payroll Management

  • Process monthly and weekly payroll accurately and on time
  • Calculate salaries, overtime, bonuses, deductions, and statutory payments
  • Administer PAYE, National Insurance, pension contributions, and student loan deductions
  • Submit Real Time Information (RTI) to HMRC in accordance with statutory deadlines
  • Prepare and issue payslips to employees
  • Manage auto-enrolment pension administration and liaise with pension providers

Statutory Compliance

  • Prepare and submit VAT returns (if applicable)
  • Ensure compliance with HMRC payroll and tax regulations
  • Maintain payroll records in line with statutory retention requirements
  • Assist with year-end payroll activities, including P60s and P11Ds (if applicable)

Accounts Payable & Receivable

  • Chase outstanding payments and resolve discrepancies
  • Respond to payroll and finance queries from staff and management

Systems & Process Support

  • Maintain payroll and accounting systems
  • Support improvements in bookkeeping and payroll processes
  • Ensure data accuracy, confidentiality, and secure handling of financial information

Risk Management, Compliance & Audit

  • Coordinate annual financial audits and prepare management response plan.
  • Support on tax, statutory and internal audits/external audit working closely with the management to ensure audit findings are minimized.

Competence required

Qualifications: Qualification in Finance & Accounting or Qualified/Part Qualified Management Accountant (CMA), Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or Chartered Accountant (ACCA) or with 5 year work experience.

Skills and Experience:

  • Proficient in financial management skills.
  • Proficient in using financial software, accounting system and reporting packages especially Excel, Quick Books.
  • Proficient skills in coordination and capacity strengthening for local implementation and financial management.
  • Good engagement and collaboration skills with ability to work in a multi-cultural project team in a global organization.
  • Good IT literacy (Microsoft, Zoom, project management, people management software)
  • Good verbal and written communications in English and local languages.
