Job Purpose:

The Finance Intern will assist the Finance Department in daily financial management tasks, including data entry, documentation, reconciliation, and reporting. The role provides an opportunity to gain practical experience in financial operations, accounting procedures, and organizational financial systems.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Financial Documentation & Record Keeping

  • Assist in maintaining accurate and up-to-date financial records.
  • Support in organizing vouchers, invoices, receipts, and supporting documents.
  • Ensure proper filing of both hard and soft copies of financial data.

2. Data Entry & Accounting Support

  • Enter financial transactions into accounting software or ledgers.
  • Support monthly bank reconciliation and ledger reviews.
  • Assist in preparing journal vouchers and expense tracking sheets.

3. Financial Reporting

  • Help in preparing monthly, quarterly, and annual financial summaries.
  • Support in preparing financial reports for management and audits.
  • Assist in tracking budgets and expenditures for various projects.

4. Audit & Compliance Assistance

  • Support in internal and external audit preparation.
  • Ensure all supporting documents meet compliance and audit standards.
  • Assist in updating asset registers and verifying inventory.

5. Administrative & Coordination Support

  • Provide support to finance and admin teams during procurement or payments.
  • Assist in collecting quotations and processing vendor payments.
  • Perform any other duties as assigned by the Finance Manager.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, Commerce, or related field (final-year students or recent graduates preferred).
  • Basic understanding of accounting principles and financial systems.
  • Proficiency in MS Excel and accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, ERP, or similar).
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Good communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Integrity, confidentiality, and willingness to learn.
