Job Title: Finance Officer

The position is for a potential project aimed at increasing the economic opportunities of family farmers of Gilgit - Baltistan and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa in Pakistan, with a special emphasis on women and youth, and is contingent upon project approval. Finance Officer will report to the Project Coordinator.

Job Summary:

The Finance Officer will be responsible for managing and overseeing the financial transactions and records of the project / organization. He / She will ensure compliance with financial regulations, prepare financial reports, manage budgets, and support decision-making processes. The role requires analytical skills, attention to detail, and a strong understanding of financial principles.

 


 Key Responsibilities:

Financial Management:

  • Maintain accurate financial records and ensure proper documentation.
  • Monitor cash flow, accounts receivable, and accounts payable.
  • Ensure timely processing of invoices and payments.

Budgeting and Forecasting:

  • Assist in the preparation of budgets and financial forecasts.
  • Analyze budget variances and provide recommendations for cost optimization.

Reporting:

  • Prepare financial statements, and cash flow statements.
  • Compile monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports for internal and external stakeholders.

Compliance and Audit:

  • Ensure compliance with financial regulations, laws, and organizational project policies.
  • Coordinate with auditors and provide necessary documentation during audits.

Record-Keeping and Software Management:

  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records using accounting software.
  • Ensure data security and integrity.

 

Key Skills and Competencies:

  • Analytical Skills: Ability to analyze financial data and provide insights.
  • Attention to Detail: Ensure accuracy in financial records and reports.
  • Technical Proficiency: Knowledge of accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, SAP, or Oracle).
  • Communication Skills: Effectively communicate financial information to non-finance stakeholders.
  • Problem-Solving: Propose solutions for financial challenges or inefficiencies.
  • Time Management: Meet deadlines for reporting and compliance.

 


 Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field (Certifications like ACCA, CPA, or CFA are a plus).
  • Proven experience in finance or accounting roles (e.g., 1-2 years).
  • In-depth knowledge of financial regulations and accounting principles.
