Job Title: Finance Officer
The position is for a potential project aimed at increasing the economic opportunities of family farmers of Gilgit - Baltistan and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa in Pakistan, with a special emphasis on women and youth, and is contingent upon project approval. Finance Officer will report to the Project Coordinator.
Job Summary:
The Finance Officer will be responsible for managing and overseeing the financial transactions and records of the project / organization. He / She will ensure compliance with financial regulations, prepare financial reports, manage budgets, and support decision-making processes. The role requires analytical skills, attention to detail, and a strong understanding of financial principles.
Key Responsibilities:
Financial Management:
- Maintain accurate financial records and ensure proper documentation.
- Monitor cash flow, accounts receivable, and accounts payable.
- Ensure timely processing of invoices and payments.
Budgeting and Forecasting:
- Assist in the preparation of budgets and financial forecasts.
- Analyze budget variances and provide recommendations for cost optimization.
Reporting:
- Prepare financial statements, and cash flow statements.
- Compile monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports for internal and external stakeholders.
Compliance and Audit:
- Ensure compliance with financial regulations, laws, and organizational project policies.
- Coordinate with auditors and provide necessary documentation during audits.
Record-Keeping and Software Management:
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records using accounting software.
- Ensure data security and integrity.
Key Skills and Competencies:
- Analytical Skills: Ability to analyze financial data and provide insights.
- Attention to Detail: Ensure accuracy in financial records and reports.
- Technical Proficiency: Knowledge of accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, SAP, or Oracle).
- Communication Skills: Effectively communicate financial information to non-finance stakeholders.
- Problem-Solving: Propose solutions for financial challenges or inefficiencies.
- Time Management: Meet deadlines for reporting and compliance.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field (Certifications like ACCA, CPA, or CFA are a plus).
- Proven experience in finance or accounting roles (e.g., 1-2 years).
