Relevant Experience:

  • Master’s degree in GIS, Geoinformatics, Statistics, Geography, or related field.
  • 3–7 years of experience in GIS operations, preferably in land record digitization or cadastral mapping projects.
  • Experience in GPS-based field data collection and spatial data validation.
  • Knowledge of parcel mapping, land administration systems, and GIS dashboards will be an advantage.

Job Summary

The GIS Expert will be responsible for managing geospatial data systems under the Digitalization of Land Records Project. The role involves updating and maintaining GIS datasets, supporting cadastral mapping processes, ensuring data accuracy, and contributing to the development of GIS-based dashboards and land information systems. The position requires strong technical expertise in spatial data management, field coordination, and GIS-based analysis to support efficient and accurate land record digitization.

Key Responsibilities

  • Update and maintain GIS shapefiles, ensuring accuracy, consistency, and version control of spatial datasets.
  • Manage cadastral parcel editing activities, including splitting and merging of land parcels based on verified field data.
  • Ensure complete and accurate digitization of Mouza-level land records and resolve spatial/data inconsistencies.
  • Develop and support GIS dashboards and generate spatial reports for project monitoring and decision-making.
  • Integrate and update specialized spatial and attribute datasets within GIS platforms.
  • Conduct location-based field planning using GIS tools to support efficient survey operations.
  • Coordinate with technical teams (including PULSE) to resolve GIS system and data integration issues.
  • Support field monitoring, provide on-the-job training to surveyors, and strengthen map-reading and GIS understanding.
