Z.M.K. & Co. seeks applications from qualified, competent, and motivated individuals for the position of Community Engagement Officer. The incumbent will lead inclusive, participatory, and gender-responsive community mobilization using PRA and SBC approaches to support improved outcomes in immunization coverage, child protection including birth registration, reduction of out-of-school children, improved nutrition, enhanced access to primary healthcare, and promotion of safe WASH practices. Purpose of the Job
The Community Engagement Officer will lead participatory and inclusive community mobilization using PRA and SBC approaches to improve outcomes in immunization, child protection, education, nutrition, primary healthcare, and WASH. The role will ensure that community priorities—particularly of women and vulnerable groups are reflected in local development planning and translated into actionable interventions.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct community profiling and data collection using PRA tools.
- Facilitate community sessions for problem identification and prioritization.
- Support SBC interventions to improve service uptake and behaviors.
- Engage community stakeholders including youth, caregivers, and local leaders.
- Establish and strengthen community groups and referral mechanisms.
- Coordinate with stakeholders and support community-level advocacy.
- Monitor activities, maintain records, and document progress and learnings.
Eligibility Criteria
Education
- Master’s degree in Social Sciences, Public Health, Community Development, Education, Nutrition, or a related field.
Experience
- 4–5 years of relevant experience in community engagement, mobilization, or SBC.
- Experience in integrated sectors such as health, education, nutrition, or WASH.
- Strong experience working at the grassroots level.
- Practical experience with PRA tools is required.
Additional Requirements
- Fluency in Pashto is essential; local dialects will be an advantage.
- Strong understanding of local cultural and gender dynamics.
- Good facilitation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Willingness to work in field-based and challenging environments.
