Key Responsibilities

Strategic Leadership & Programme Oversight

Quality Assurance & Clinical Governance

  • Ensure mental health services adhere to recognised clinical, ethical, and professional standards.
  • Review complex cases and support referrals to specialised psychiatric or medical services where necessary.
  • Ensure safe and ethical integration of MHPSS interventions within GBV, Case Management, and Community-Based Protection programming.
  • Monitor service quality and ensure adherence to confidentiality, safeguarding, and professional conduct standards.

Capacity Building & Staff Care

  • Develop and implement training, coaching, and supervision plans for MH and PSS staff.
  • Strengthen staff capacity on psychological first aid, psychosocial support interventions, and case management collaboration.
  • Promote staff well-being and support mechanisms addressing secondary trauma, stress management, and ethical practice boundaries.

Reporting, Compliance & Coordination

  • Draft and review MHPSS reports, analyse service trends, and provide technical inputs to programme reporting.
  • Ensure safeguarding, confidentiality, and data protection compliance within all MHPSS activities.
  • Contribute to internal programme reviews, monitoring processes, and donor reporting requirements.
  • Coordinate with relevant partners, technical working groups, and stakeholders as delegated.

Other Duties

  • Perform any other duties related to the position, as reasonably assigned by the Supervisor or relevant Head Office units, in line with organisational policies and operational requirements.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Minimum 5–7 years of relevant experience in mental health and psychosocial support programming.
  • At least 3 years of experience in a supervisory or technical leadership role.
  • Strong understanding of humanitarian MHPSS frameworks and standards (such as IASC MHPSS Guidelines and WHO mhGAP).
  • Demonstrated experience supervising mental health professionals and managing complex cases.
  • Strong analytical, coordination, and reporting skills.
  • Ability to work in multidisciplinary protection programming environments.

Policies & Compliance

  • The position is subject to and governed by the organisation’s policies, procedures, codes of conduct and ethical standards.
