 Communication and Reporting Consultant Concern Pakistan programme


  1. Background:

Concern Worldwide is an international, non-governmental, humanitarian organisation dedicated to the reduction of suffering, and working towards the ultimate elimination of extreme poverty in the world’s poorest countries. Concern has been working in Pakistan since 2001, implementing both long term development and emergency response projects throughout the country. 


  1. Overall Objective and Purpose 


Concern Worldwide Pakistan is seeking a Communications and Reporting Consultant for its Country Programme, based in the Islamabad office. The overall purpose of this position is to strengthen the quality, consistency, and visibility of Concern Pakistan’s reporting and communications for internal and external audiences, including donors, government, partners, and the wider public. The consultant will support the country team in consolidating programme information and producing high-quality concept notes/ proposals, reports, case/success stories and presentations through effective editing, formatting, and quality assurance. In parallel, the role will lead the development, design, and production of communication and visibility materials, including publications, digital content, and social media products, in line with Concern’s branding and donor visibility requirements.


The consultant will coordinate information dissemination across the organisation, support day-to-day communications activities, and actively promote Concern Pakistan’s resilience and humanitarian work through social media platforms and Concern’s official communication channels. The role will also be responsible for advice/capacity building relevant Concern and/or partner I/NGO staff  to capture high-quality action oriented photographs and advice selected service provider for videos from programme locations, donor visits, and key events, to strenthen Concern Pakistan’s programmes visibility among stakeholders and the public, as appropriate. The Communication and Reporting Consultant is responsible to develop communication material for internal and external audience with support from relevant colleagues.

 


  1. Key Responsibilities

The Communications Consultant will be responsible for, but not limited to, the following tasks: 

  1. Reporting and Proposal Development

  • Support programme teams in the preparation of high-quality donor and internal reports, Expressions of Interest (EOIs), concept notes, proposals, and presentations. Edit, format, and quality-assure documents in line with Concern Worldwide and donor guidelines.

  • Prepare initial drafts of the annual country report, government reports, and monthly situation reports in coordination with the Country Director (CD), Programme Director (PD), and MEAL team.

  • Manage report circulation, ensuring timely submission to CD/PD, HQ, donors, government counterparts, and internal stakeholders, as appropriate.

  • Develop and maintain an annual reporting schedule in coordination with Programme Director, Senior Technical Advisors, MEAL, and the Country Finance team.

  1.  Communications and Visibility

  • Design and coordinate the production of communication and visibility materials, including programme documentation, case studies, factsheets, brochures, banners, and IEC materials.

  • Support day-to-day communications activities by collecting programme updates, success stories, and field information.

  • Draft short communication content such as summaries, captions, and basic write-ups for reports and visibility materials.

  • Ensure compliance with donor visibility and branding requirements across all programme outputs.

  • Maintain records of donor visibility actions, including photographic evidence for reporting purposes.

  1. Media, Digital, and Content Development

  • Manage and contribute to updates on Concern Pakistan’s official communication channels, including social media platforms and promote Concern Pakistan’s programme and resilience work through digital and media content.

  • Produce and coordinate high-quality photographs and videos from programme areas, donor visits, events, and exhibitions, ensuring quality and consent standards are met.

  • Support the development of content for newsletters, reports, and presentations.

  1. Documentation and Knowledge Management

  • Coordinate the documentation of case studies, programme learning, and research in collaboration with programme and MEAL teams.

  • Ensure timely translation of communication and knowledge products, where required, and their dissemination to relevant stakeholders.

  • Maintain an organised and up-to-date document library, including hard and electronic copies of reports and communication materials.

  • Review and strengthen information management systems (e.g. SharePoint and filing systems) to ensure easy access to reports and knowledge products.

  • Provide basic orientation or training to relevant staff on document management systems, as required.

  • Provide coordination and communications support during meetings, workshops, events, exhibitions, and donor visits.

  • Support internal and external information sharing in line with Concern’s communication protocols.

  1. Deliverables


  • Final, donor-compliant reports, government reports, EOIs, concept notes, proposals, presentations, and sitreps edited, formatted, and quality-assured

  • A consolidated reporting calendar developed, maintained, and regularly updated. 

  • Properly branded communication products (case studies, factsheets, brochures, banners, IEC materials, and event visibility items) produced and disseminated. 

  • Complete records of visibility actions, including; web links; photographic evidence, maintained for donor reporting.

  • Regular, high-quality content produced and published on Concern Pakistan’s official communication channels, including social media, newsletters, and presentations.

  • Professional-quality photographs and videos from programme areas, donor visits, and key events, meeting consent and quality standards.

  • An organised, up-to-date repository of reports, communication materials, case studies, photos, and videos (hard and electronic), accessible to relevant staff.

  • Improved information management systems (e.g. SharePoint) with basic staff orientation provided, and effective internal and external information sharing supported during meetings, events, and donor engagements.

  1. Duration/Time of consultancy


The consultancy will initially be for a period of four months, starting in March 2026. Contract extensions will be considered based on performance and organizational requirements.


  1. Coordination and Communication

The consultant will communicate and coordinate for their deliverables with Technical Advisor (TA) – M&E and will work closely with the Program Team specially STA-Livelihood (Comms Lead) to ensure all outputs are delivered as per the requirements and timelines.

  1. Required Qualifications and Experience

  • Relevant Educational Qualification to the Master’s level in Mass communications, English Literature, International Relations, Media Studies, or a related field.

  • At least 5 years of communication and reporting experience in the field of international development, resilience building, and humanitarian assistance preferably with UN, and INGO, 

  • Strong ability to deliver quality products under short and strict deadlines

  • Good knowledge of Programme Cycle Management in the Humanitarian/Development Sector

  • Good knowledge of donors (e.g. FCDO, EU, UN) and their humanitarian and development work.

  1. Skills and Competencies

  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite; Photoshop and desktop publishing software a strong plus (e.g. Canva, Adobe InDesign/Illustrator is an asset) 

  • Experience of donor reporting, research and/or communications preferred. 

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills 

  • Willing to travel independently to field

  • Ability to coordinate with multiple teams and manage deadlines.

  • Excellent English writing, editing and formatting skills
