Job Summary: The Lady Medical Officer will be responsible for delivering quality, gender-responsive, and rights-based SRHR, FP, and MNCH services through outreach clinics and mobile service delivery platforms in hard-to-reach and minority-populated areas. The role focuses on improving access to essential SRHR services for women, adolescent girls, and marginalized groups, while ensuring adherence to national clinical guidelines and ethical standards.

Aga Khan Health Service, Pakistan, is looking for a competent Lady Medical Officer based at Regional Office, in Gilgit Region.  

 

Role and Responsibilities:

Service Delivery:

  • Provides comprehensive SRHR, FP, and MNCH services through outreach clinics and community-based service delivery points.
  • Ensures provision of safe, confidential, and non-discriminatory services to women, adolescents, and minority populations.
  • Conducts clinical assessments, counseling, and referrals as per national protocols.

Quality of Care & Clinical Compliance:

  • Ensures compliance with national SRHR guidelines, infection prevention standards, and quality assurance protocols.
  • Supports on-the-job mentoring of paramedical staff and FP counsellors during outreach activities.
  • Maintains accurate clinical records and ensures proper use of reporting formats.

Community Engagement & Rights-Based Approach:

  • Participates in community dialogues and awareness sessions to address myths, misconceptions, and cultural barriers around SRHR.
  • Promotes informed choice, consent, and confidentiality in all service interactions.
  • Coordinates with community mobilizers to ensure outreach services are culturally sensitive and inclusive.

Coordination & Reporting

  • Coordinates with project teams, local health facilities, and district health authorities to ensure continuity of care.
  • Submits timely service delivery reports, referral records, and outreach summaries.
  • Supports documentation of case studies and success stories related to improved access to SRHR services.

Expected Deliverables

  • Submits Monthly outreach service delivery reports.
  • Ensures Referrals and follow-up documentation.
  • Submits Participation reports from outreach and community activities.

 

Qualifications & Experience:

  • MBBS with valid PMDC license
  • Minimum 1 year of clinical experience (house job), experienced candidates preferably in SRHR, FP, or MNCH will be preferred.
  • Prior experience working in outreach settings, humanitarian contexts, or hard-to-reach areas.
  • Strong clinical, communication, and counseling skills.
  • Commitment to rights-based, gender-responsive service delivery.
  • Willingness to travel extensively within assigned districts.
