Position Overview
A non-profit local organization in District Mansehra is seeking a highly skilled Manager “Program Development / Proposal Writer / Grant Development” with a strong track record in high-quality proposal writing, networking, donor research, and donor liaisoning. The ideal candidate will lead the development of compelling high-quality proposals and concept notes, communication, cultivate relationships with institutional donors, and support strategic program design and strategies to secure sustainable funding for the organization.
Key Responsibilities
1. Proposal & Grant Development
- Lead the development and writing of concept notes, full-length proposals, and grant applications tailored national, international philanthropic donors.
- Coordinate with program, MEAL, and finance teams to gather necessary inputs, ensuring technical accuracy and donor compliance.
- Ensure clarity, consistency, and a compelling narrative in all submissions.
- High-quality and compliant proposal and RFP submission
- Strengthening organizational overall business development and proposal systems
2. Donor Mapping & Research
- Conduct comprehensive research to identify new funding opportunities and donor priorities.
- Maintain an updated donor database, tracking deadlines, eligibility criteria, and funding cycles.
- Systematic identification and tracking of partnership opportunities
3. Donor Liaison & Relationship Management
- Lead the development and implementation of Partnership Development strategy to enhance organizational ability to attract funding from diverse sources while ensuring coordination across fundraising efforts.
- Proactively develop and maintain strong donor relationships, gaining a deep understanding of donor priorities and strategies to align funding opportunities with programmatic goals.
- Develop and strengthen strategic partnerships with key institutional donors, particularly the UN agencies, INGOs, and the corporate sector organisations in Pakistan as well as in foreign countries.
- Support donor meetings, presentations, and negotiations to build long-term partnerships.
4. Internal Engagement & Due Diligence Documentation
- Maintain and regularly update all governance and due diligence documents required for engagement with institutional donors and key stakeholders.
- Ensure that all policies and manuals are comprehensive, effective, and meet stakeholders’ requirements for due diligence and capacity assessments.
- Develop and maintain a comprehensive donor database, ensuring up-to-date records of donor organizations, mainly institutional donors, funding cycles and donor priorities.
- Advise program teams on donor trends, proposal structuring, and competitive positioning.
- Contribute to organizational strategy through insights gained from donor research and funding landscapes.
5. Quality Assurance
- Review and edit proposal content to ensure the highest standards of quality, accuracy, and compliance.
- Ensure all submissions reflect FWA’s mission, vision, and strategic priorities.
Qualifications, Skills & Experience
- Master’s degree (or equivalent) in English, Development Studies, Social Sciences or a related field.
- Minimum 10 years of relevant experience in proposal writing, grant development, and donor liaisoning within the development or humanitarian sectors.
- Proven success in securing funding from institutional donors.
- Excellent command of written and spoken English with demonstrated high-quality narrative writing and presentation ability.
- Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and online donor platforms.
- Strong research, analytical, and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently, manage deadlines and handle multiple proposals concurrently.
- Excellent written skills and the ability to turn complex project and/or organisational information into a compelling case for support.
- Ability to work remotely and effectively coordinate with different teams across the organisation and in multiple locations.
